Now everyone can donate a smile as Amazon customers. You can decide whether they want to support asocial organization of their choice with every purchase.
To donate a smile you must not a must set an amount they want to donate in addition. Amazon simply takes 0.5 percent of the purchase value and puts him on top as a donation. Great way to donat!
Which Organisation can benefit from this?
At the time of launching in Germany and Austria, there are already up to about 10 000 non-profit organisations according to Amazon registered , from which customers can choose “their”.
Among these are large and well-known charity name, but also small associations or foundations that rely on donations. From the German Red Cross up to the District Football Club.
How can you donat through shopping?
To participate in the charity-shopping, customers must take the detour over the https://org.amazon.de/. Here they come on an upstream site where they will select the Organization, which the donation should go to. Then, the user ends up normal on the home page, which is the same as for all other customers.
After a completed purchase, Amazon calculated the 0.5 per cent and credits the respective organization (out of pocket). The collected donations to the charitable goals are paid once in the quarter.
You can always change your mind!
You may not always donate for a single organisation rather you can always decide at every shopping tour which organisation gets your donation.
How can you register your organisation?
It is open to any organisation in Germany and Austria to sign up for smile. There is only one criterion when selecting: charitable status. Under org.amazon.de, there is also the corresponding registration form.
Amazon collaborates with stifter-helfen.de to legitimize the organizations.
Does this applies to every products?
In principle yes!, the entire purchase will be determined. It does not matter whether the products are sold by Amazon or a Marketplace provider. The latter have no disadvantage of smile, because Amazon handles the donation resulting from a purchase.
However recurring subscription purchases are an exception. Here is only the first delivery will be charged with, the other falls out.
So now what does amazon gets from this?
Well, Amazon itself pays the donations. Not the customers, not the seller. And: this donations are not tax deductible for Amazon. Though, the company may claim the payments as “deductible costs”. This is where , the question arises about the reason for the company. The head of Amazon Germany underlines the aspect as such that they want to help in conversation with their IMAGE too of course. They also said that Amazon hoped of smile is , “to bindcustomers to the company” and to attract new customers as well.
In addition, the AmazonSmile is certainly good for a company‘s overall image.
This project exist in the US since 2013.
